The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
