At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
