۞ Those people, who have no fear of coming before Us, say, "Why should not the angels be sent down to us? Or else we should see our Lord. " Great arrogance have they assumed in regard to themselves, and have transgressed all limits in their rebellion. 21 On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' 22 And We will proceed to what they have done of deeds, so We shall render them as scattered floating dust. 23 On that Day, the companions of Paradise (will have) a better abode and a finer restingplace. 24 On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, 25 on that Day [it will become obvious to all that] true sovereignty belongs to the Most Gracious [alone]: hence, a Day of distress will it be for all who deny the truth, 26 And the day when the unjust one shall bite his hands saying: O! would that I had taken a way with the Apostle 27 "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 He led me astray from the Warning after it had come to me. Satan always betrays man. 29 Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." 30 For so it is that against every prophet We have set up enemies from among those who are lost in sin: yet none can guide and give succour as thy Sustainer does! 31 And the disbelievers say, “Why was the Qur’an not sent down to him all at once?” This is how We sent it in stages, in order to strengthen your heart with it and We read it slowly, in stages. 32 And they come not unto thee with a similitude but We bring thee the truth and an excellent interpretation. 33 Those who shall be mustered to Gehenna upon their faces -- they shall be worse in place, and gone further astray from the way. 34
