Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 and we glorify God". 166 And there were those who said, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
