As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 and they bar them from the way, and they think they are guided, 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 You can ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We had commanded them to worship other gods besides the Beneficent God?" 45
