Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
