Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
