Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 Then We gave them good in the place of evil until they became many and said: Distress and happiness did indeed befall our fathers. Then We took them by surprise while they did not perceive. 95 Had the people of the villages believed and been cautious, We would have opened upon them the blessings from heaven and earth. But they belied, and We seized them for what they earned. 96 What! do the people of the towns then feel secure from Our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep? 97 Or do the inhabitants of the villages feel secure from Our Might coming to them in the midmorning while they play? 98 Then did they feel secure from the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people. 99
