Have you seen the one who turned away 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
