The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and spreading shade 30 and gushing water, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For those of the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
