The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
