The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But save him who fears 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Almighty God's Truth.
