The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Alif Lam Mim. 1 There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; 2 Who believe in the Unseen, and establish prayer, and out of that wherewith We have provided them expend. 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 They have found the guidance of their Lord and will be successful. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom. 7
