Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
