And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 We said, "Stamp your foot! Here is cool water for you to wash in and drink," 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 And We said, “Take a broom in your hand and strike her with it, and do not break your vow”; We indeed found him patiently enduring; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined. 44 And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision. 45 Verily We! We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Abode. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 LET [all] this be a reminder [to those who believe in God] - for, verily, the most beauteous of all goals awaits the God-conscious: 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age. 52 'This is what you were promised for the Day of Reckoning; 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Hell, in which they will burn. How vile a resting place! 56 Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!- 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
