The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
