The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
