1/2 Hizb 45

۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
