Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or has He (Allah) only daughters and you have sons? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! 49
