The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER this unfolding [of God's message,] as it comes down from on high! 1 Your companion did not err, nor did he go astray. 2 Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. 3 It is not but a revelation revealed, 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 One vigorous; and he grew clear to view 6 While he was on the uppermost horizon. 7 Thereafter he drew nigh, then he let himself down. 8 Until a space of two bow (arcs) or even less remained, 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The [servant's] heart did not give the lie to what he saw: 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. 13 by the lote tree beyond which none may pass 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 Neither did sight falter nor exceed the bounds. 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza? 19 and, another, the third manat? 20 Do sons belong to you and daughters to God? 21 That were indeed an unjust division. 22 They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them. 23 What! Will man get whatever he dreams of? 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25
