Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven will split asunder so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food save filth 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
