The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
