Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
