Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until death approached us". 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
