The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 What is your opinion if he were upon guidance, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
