The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). 2 who believe in the unseen, establish the Salats and expend (in Our way) out of what We have bestowed on them; 3 Who believe in that which has been sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad) and what has been sent down before you (to Prophets Jesus and Moses) and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 They have found the guidance of their Lord and will be successful. 5 Surely those who disbelieve, it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them, will not believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
