Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 And every soul came, along with a herder and a witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
