He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 So you are after him! 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 exalted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), 28 and olives and palms, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 his mother, his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
