The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the breath of morning 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
