The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
