Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
