The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
