۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
