These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then you went astray, you that belied, 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Did you create it, or are We the Creator? 59 We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us 60 from replacing you by others like yourselves or changing your forms and re-creating you in forms that you know nothing of. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 “We have been penalised; 66 Indeed, we have been deprived of the fruits of our labour." 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you who cause it to descend from the clouds, or do We? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74
