Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
