The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord glorify 3 and purify your robes, 4 shun uncleanness; 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
