The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
