۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. This is the straight path. 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with clear proof (in support of his truthfulness), he said, "I have come to you with wisdom to clarify for you some of the matters in which you have disputes. Have fear of God and obey me. 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
