O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 those vie in good works, outracing to them. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
