And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
