And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 If it be His Will He can still the Wind: then would they become motionless on the back of the (ocean). Verily in this are Signs for everyone who patiently perseveres and is grateful. 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 who have pledged their obedience to the Lord, who are steadfast in prayer, who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves, who spend for the cause of God out of what We have given them, 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs. 43
