Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 in towering columns. 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
