And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
