This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
