The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 We have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For those on the right. 38
