Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble, recording, 11 Who know what you do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
