When Your Lord told Moses to go to the unjust people of the Pharaoh 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Universe. 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
