S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 "Has he made the aliha (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God - Allah). Verily, this is a curious thing!" 5 And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 [But] there it is: any and all human beings, however [strongly] leagued together, are bound to suffer defeat [whenever they refuse to accept the truth]. 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
