Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The retribution of evil is the equal of evil (done); yet those who forgive and rehabilitate will be rewarded by God. Verily He does not like those who do wrong. 40 Those who defend themselves after they have been wronged cannot be held blameworthy, 41 The way of blame is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without justice; these! for them is a torment afflictive. 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
