Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and earth? Nay, but they have not sure faith. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49
